Photoblitzing

The place I chose to “photoblitz” was my basement, simply because it is a dynamic space with unique lighting. There are lots of different lights in my basement, including a disco ball, a color-changing spotlight, and unique overhead lighting. Also there are different angles and rooms all over my basement which I thought would be good for a quick blitz of photos. The experience was rather fun and something I had never really tried before. I have never been a huge fan of taking photos before, but I actually had fun going around the basement looking for gadgets and spaces for taking unique flicks. Weirdly, the photos that worked best for me were the ones that I did not really think about. Those photos included, “Make an ordinary object look more attractive, almost supernatural,” the first photo, and, “Take a photo of an interesting shadow,” because I immediately knew what I wanted to take a photo of and how I was going to do it. Regarding other photos, I was overthinking which resulted in forced angles and boring portrayals. I think my most inventive photo was the first one I took, trying to make a golfing-Santa sculpture look “supernatural.” I grabbed my color-changing spotlight and set it to red, to portray a “Christmas aura” coming off of the sculpture. Overall, I had a good time, and not thinking about photo taking made it more enjoyable.
